Booking a band: what to plan
A band needs room (count the playing space of each musician), power and often time for set-up and soundcheck. State when the venue can be accessed and when the evening should end.
Ask about the repertoire and the length of sets: most bands play several sets with breaks. For a dance party, plan a playlist during those breaks.
The fee mainly depends on the line-up (solo, duo, full band), the playing time, travel, the equipment to bring (PA, lighting, piano) and the date: Saturdays from May to September and the end-of-year season are the most requested. Give a budget range in your request and artists reply with a precise fee.
