The right jazz format
Solo piano or a duo (piano and double bass, guitar and voice) for a cocktail where people talk; a trio or quartet with drums for a livelier evening. Standards suit a gallery opening as well as a gala dinner.
Jazz is often played acoustically or with a light PA: check whether a piano is available on site, or ask if the artist brings a digital piano.
The fee mainly depends on the line-up (solo, duo, full band), the playing time, travel, the equipment to bring (PA, lighting, piano) and the date: Saturdays from May to September and the end-of-year season are the most requested. Give a budget range in your request and artists reply with a precise fee.
